Here at Blackburn Chemicals, we specialise in producing foam control solutions for a wide range of industries, allowing us to dominate the market. We export our products on a worldwide basis and our trade name, Dispelair™, is synonymous with quality and technical excellence.
We have over 200 Dispelair™ Foam Control Agents in active production, suitable for a wide variety of industrial applications. Our research and development team are continuously working with new formulations and materials to improve the existing range.
We take pride in our company’s expertise. All our employees are dedicated to providing both new and existing customers with top-quality products and services- a standard we have upheld and improved upon since our formulation over 50 years ago.

About Us

Founded in 1972 George Lamb, Blackburn Chemicals has gone from strength to strength in its field of expertise. All six of George’s children helped the company to become as established as it is today.
In the year 1997, the youngest son, Steven took over as Managing Director and masterminded a significant expansion of the company which took place during the following 20 years.
John Covill -the current Managing Director – has been with the company since graduating from the University of Newcastle in 1984, working as a development chemist, Production Manager, Sales Manager, and becoming Managing Director in 2016.
The family connection continues with three of George’s Grandchildren currently holding responsible positions within the company.
We’re big enough to accommodate multiple business’ needs on a global scale whilst maintaining an excellent personal service and care for our customers.
Being an independent family-owned company, this allows us to make long term business decisions for the benefit of our customers and not short-term business decisions for the benefit of unknown shareholders.
